Endometriosis occurs when this endometrium tissue develops outside the uterus in which it shouldn't. Nobody is exactly certain why this procedure happens, though researchers understand it is linked to a female's hormones and with her autoimmune system.
The endometrial tissue can grow on the surface of the uterus, rectum, or pelvic floor; around the ligaments supporting the uterus; around the fallopian tubes or ovaries.
Symptoms of Endometriosis
Generally, a girl will undergo some of the following symptoms:
- Heavy Periods
- Painful Periods or Ovulation, such as low or cramping back pain
